Traditionally, brick slips were manufactured by literally removing the face of an existing brick. This however proved to be very costly and led to a substantial amount of waste material
Many clay brickmakers in the UK are working towards new cladding systems. These are generally developments on the simple brick slip and the innovation is in relation to the
means of fixing them. The real goal is to develop good economic dry fixed rather than
adhesive based systems.
