Hydraulic lime renders and mortars are very traditional building materials that have been around for over 2000 years and offer superb on-going protection for exposed properties against the varied British climate. As well as being aesthetically pleasing and carbon efficient they offer a lot of important advantages over hard cement based renders and mortars:

1. They are highly breathable and by allowing moisture to escape from a building (unlike waterproof cement) they keep the property dry.

2. As they are softer than cement renders and therefore softer than the substrate they have great flexural strength and are highly crack resistant.

3. Very pleasing on the eye with a natural looking finish containing shading variations for authenticity especially on an older property.
