Exterior Wall Coatings & Specialist Render Coatings

Posted in wall coatings

Many homeowners are becoming increasingly aware of the new generation of low maintenance exterior coatings that can be applied over existing render or pebbledash finishes instead of traditional paint.

These coatings are usually made of a resin, acrylic or silicon base and have the ability to repel water from the rain but allow the walls to breathe by letting internal moisture escape through them. The principle is the same as human skin in the way our bodies allow moisture in the form of sweat to pass out of our skin whilst ensuring we do not fill up with water when having a bath or going swimming.

There are lots of ways of applying these coatings and a huge range of different materials and textures available to homeowners. However, not all coatings are suitable for every house type and to all weather conditions and so it is crucial you are given the best advice as to which coating is best for your own individual requirements.

Multiguard Solutions are probably unique in that we offer a wide range of different materials and application methods to ensure we only recommend the right product and system for each individual home. For example a Victorian property on a windy sea front has a different need to a 1960’s property in a sheltered suburban setting and it is unlikely the same coating will be suitable for each of these two differing properties.

To ensure we only recommend the best solution all our systems are costed out the same to the homeowner and therefore there is no temptation to steer a client towards a particular system so as to bump up the costs. Equally all systems are accredited and attract a 10 year Insurance Guarantee from the Federation of Master Builders.
